- Version 1.1 goes on-line! With links to:
- Repositories database removed. Never fear, this is only a temporary measure as Bright SPARCS will soon be linked to a WWW version of the Australian Society of Archivists Directory of Archives in Australia. This will provide more detailed and up-to-date information than the old database. Stay tuned!

Search Bright SPARCS
You can search Bright SPARCS for a particular scientist, or list of scientists, by entering a name or scientific field. The search program currently being used is 'Irena', developed by the Coombs Computing Unit, Australian National University. Just enter a keyword in the space indicated and press enter.
A more flexible searching program will be available soon!
Hints for searching with Irena
- 'Irena' can only search for complete words, not substrings.
- Searches are case-insensitive
- 'Irena' does not support complex searches (more than one keyword).
- For scientific fields, use 'geologist', 'chemist' etc., rather than 'geology' or 'chemistry'. Alternatively, you can browse a complete list of fields.
