Born: 15 July 1929  Melbourne?, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 30 June 1992.
John Joseph Mahony was Professor of Mathematics, University of Western Australia 1965-92. Earlier he was Professor of Applied Mathematics, University of Queensland 1961-64, Senior Lecturer in Aeronautical Engineering, University of Sydney 1958-60 and Scientific Officer with the Aeronautics Research Laboratories 1951-57. He was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science (FAA) in 1974.
