Tamblyn, Norman Edwin Tonkin (1912 - 2000)

Born: 29 January 1912  Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.  Died: 30 September 2000.
Norman Edwin T. Tamblyn worked for CSIRO. He was interested in methods of preserving wood, working on rail sleeper preservation in 1952 and taking out a patent for treating green timber in 1958. In about 1976 he presented a paper at a meeting of the Institute of Wood Science on the past, present and future of wood preservation in Australia.
