AITCHISON, Gordon James

Born Adelaide 26 October 1918. Education University of Adelaide (B.Sc. Hons. 1940, M.Sc. 1945, Ph.D. 1957). Demonstrator in physics University of Adelaide 1941-45; lecturer 1946-53; senior lecturer 1954-62. Senior lecturer in physics Australian National University 1962-66; Reader 1966-68. Head, School of Applied Science, Canberra College of Advanced Education 1969-73; College Fellow in physics 1973-82. Visiting professor of physics University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji, 1983.
