GRAY, Joseph Alexander

Born Melbourne 7 February 1884; died London, England, 5 March 1966. Education Melbourne University (B.Sc. 1907) and University of Manchester (M.Sc. 1912, D.Sc. 1913). 1851 Exhibition scholar 1909-12. Lecturer in physics at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, 1912-15; assistant professor 1915-19; Associate professor 1919-24. Lieutenant, later Capt., Royal Engineers, 1916-18. Professor of physics at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, 1924-52. F.R.S. Canada 1922, F.R.S. 1932.
