Born: 18 June 1923  Vienna, Austria.  Died: 15 November 1980  Mount Ousley, New South Wales, Australia.
Bethold Halpern worked with Nobel-laureate Professor Sir Derek Barton at Imperial College London, where he also gained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Halpern was foundation professor of chemistry at the University of Wollongong.
