Born: 9 February 1897  Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.  Died: 1935.
Charles Edward Kingsford-Smith was an aviation pioneer who undertook major experimental flights over Australia and the Pacific. He also flew between Australia and England and made a trans-Atlantic crossing.
