Cherry-Garrard, Apsley G.B. (1886 - )

Born: 2 January 1886
Apsley G.B. Cherry-Garrard was the assistant zoologist on the British Antarctic Expedition of 1910-13, led by R.F. Scott. He wrote quite a bit of material relating to this expedition. Cherry-Garrard was educated at the University of Oxford in England.

1916Successfully lobbied to stop the killing of penguins on Macquarie Island, which was declared a bird and seal sanctuary by Tasmanian Government

1917Obtained certain reforms in treatment of invalided men
