Roger Frederick C. Brown was a grandson of the Reverend George Brown (1835-1917). Brown was part of the Department of Chemistry at Monash University for over thirty years. His areas of specialty included mechanisms of reactions, organic chemical synthesis and organic chemistry NCE.
