| Noel Jean M. Brelaz formed the Standard Chemical Company in 1940. He studied fermentation processes under Dr Effront in Paris in 1927. |

| Educated Ballarat School of Mines and Industries (Diploma in Applied Chemistry). Chief chemist, Brinds' Distillery, Ballarat; technical director of Federal Distilleries till 1932; consultant 1932-40; formed the Standard Chemical Company in 1940. |
