Batty, Alton McAllan (1913 - 1984)

Industrial chemist

Born: 27 April 1913. Died: 1984.

Alton McAllan Batty was Director of CSBP & Farmers Ltd from 1953 to 1975. It is one of the biggest fertilizer works in Australia. He is commemorated by the A.McA. Batty Medal of the Western Australian Branch of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, of which he was the inaugural recipient.

1960 - 1963 President of the Western Australian Employers' Federation
1973 - 1976 Foundation President of the Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention
1974 - 1977 President and co-founder of the Farm Management Foundation of Australia
1976 - 1982 Chairman of the Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage Board
