Carswell, Douglas John (1929 - 1994)

Born: 1929.  Died: 10 December 1994  Riverside, Tasmania, Australia.
Douglas John Carswell was senior lecturer then associate professor of chemistry at the University of New South Wales 1959-74. He was co-inventor with Jim Bell of a high school experimental Nuclear Radiation Counter which was patented by the Commonwealth of Australia on 14 January 1965. The counter pioneered school experimentation in the area. Carswell was a President of the President, Science Teachers Association of New South Wales.
