Walter Harold Taylor was a concrete engineer whose book, Concrete Technology and Practice, ran to several editions during the 1960s and 1970s.

Engineering assistant, Melbourne City Council 1925-28; Supervisory Engineer, Victorian Railways & Harbor Trust Commissioners Melbourne 1929-30; Research Engineer, Wonthaggi Borough Council 1931-32; Engineer in Charge, James Forbes Company, subsidiary of Colonial Gas Association Ltd 1932-42; Administrative Officer, Royal Australian Air Force and Senior Engineer, Allied Works Council in northern operational areas 1942-44; Senior Engineer, Architects' Panel of Housing Commission Victoria 1944-45; Research Engineer and Educationist, Division of Building Research CSIRO Melbourne from 1945. Part-time lecturer, Melbourne and Monash Universities and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Chairman, Civil and Mechanical Engineering Branch, Institution of Engineers Australia.
