Born: 18 July 1925  Guildforrd, Western Australia, Australia.  Died: 17 February 2004  Perth, Western Australia, Australia.
Shirley Barbara de la Hunty was formerly a Lecturer at Edith Cowan University, Western Australia, and was made a Fellow of the University. As a champion sprinter and hurdler she took part in the Olympic Games in 1948, 1952 and 1956, winning a total of three gold medals, one silver medal and three bronze medals.
