Adams, Peter Wield (1932 - 2001)

 
Engineer and Scientist
Born: 30 December 1932  Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.  Died: 2 February 2001.
Peter Wield Adams worked at the Imperial Chemical Industries of Australia and New Zealand (ICIANZ) for thirty-five years retiring as General Manager of the Organic Chemicals Group. In his earlier appointment as manager of the development department he oversaw the establishment and management of the olefines plant in Botany, New South Wales. Before joining ICIANZ Adams studied science and engineering at the University of Melbourne. There studies were interrupted from 1942-1944 when he joined the Royal Australian Navy to defend Australia during the war. Adams received a Distinguished Service Cross for his war service.
