Extension and Enhancement Projects

Bright Sparcs is composed of Biographical Authority Records and related data covering known archives and museum resources, bibliographic information, photographs and images and other directly related online resources both within the Bright Sparcs site and on the Web generally. Bright Sparcs also includes specially prepared online exhibitions that draw together selected elements under a thematic presentation.

The extension and enhancement of the content in both these areas provides the means by which specific industries, sectors or disciplines can radically improve their historical presence on the web.

Pricing for this type of work will depend on the nature and scope of the project. We are happy to explore project possibilities and provide a free quote.

A typical Biographic Authority Record extension and enhancement would start at $1,000 and include:

a literature search (both online and off-line);
an enhancement of the Summary Note (short biographical note);
an enhancement of or creation of the Detailed Note;
the addition of references to the bibliographical database and linking to the Authority Record;
Confirmation of the existing archival and museum holdings and the re-building of entries where necessary;
a search for new archival and museum holdings (using the Web and other directory sources); and
the mounting of selected images, sound and video elements to the relevant pages as appropriate.
